conecting a dvd to a tv with only an aeria plug on the tv
Question:

is it possible, the dvd has scart and s-video on it
hope someone can help
thanks

Answers:

You need an RF modulator, it will let you plug your scart socket into it and then an RF cable will take the signal to the Telly, but quality is crap so you may as well save some money and keep with VHS or save the cash for a new telly with a scart socket :p

There getting harder to find recently as not many TV's miss a scart socket, so id ask in the classifieds or try www.maplin.co.uk or a local electronics shop, your looking at £30 plus for a new one though.

Thats basically what it will do, it will let you plug a scart in through your RF socket.

Do you have an old video player round the house ???

I usually tell people who are trying to persevere with getting things to work with their vintage TVs (such as my father, still using a 20 year old Mitsubishi Blue Diamond set) to buy one second hand through classified ads. The money for a modulator would be better spent going towards a TV with a SCART socket, and of course you can always sell your old set on.

Personally I wouldn't waste £30 on an RF modulator as 14" colour portables can now be bought from £89.
I know it's only 'for the kids' but think of the future. I know I'd rather have a decent RGB picture than some composite crap. ;)

You can get that 20" LG thing from Dixons/Currys for £89.99
