Question:
Woolies have the above player available £79.99. It includes MP3 VCD, Karoke (2 mic input), Kodak, CDR ,etc...
Three Questions:
1. Anybody got one, is it any good?
2. Is it multi region compatible?
3. Because its Kodak compatible does that mean it can play any
JPG created disks?
I was going to get the Naiko machine from Safeways but can't find one anywhere, this machine seems like a good alternative.
I take it no one has bought one then?
You may be better off asking in the 'DVD and Home Cinema Hardware Forum'
I'll move this one to the Hardware Forum as you it's probably better suited over there. :)
I bought one Xmas Eve also because I couldn't get one of the Safeway Naiko models, but it is going back because it appears to have a fault - when first switched on, there seem to be large bands between areas of different brightness. My best guess is that some of the bits that determine luminence are missing. After 15 mins or so it tends to right itself, but it will be going back.
Not decided yet whether to get it replaced or ask for my money back. If one is faulty, I worry that others might be too.
Not had chance yet to check it out properly, but first impressions are that some of the functionality of the remote is not very logical; get "Invalid Key" error message when I don't think I ought to.
Picture seems reasonable once it has warmed up, although being my first player I don't really know what to expect. Only got Lord of the Rings special edition, Best of Bowie and a Wallace & Grommit freebie DVDs to try on it. Normal stereo sound seems OK, but don't have 5.1 amp & speakers to test out the other outputs.
I do like the slim case and general styling, but YMMV on that of course. No idea about MR compatibility or hacks and I don't have anything to try anyway.
