Question:
I am interested in buying a good 32" Widescreen TV.
I would probably be spending around £600 and could possibly go up to around £700 at a push.
Can anyone recommend one for me?
(It doesnt have to be 100hz)
Thank you!

Review of it HERE (http://www.homecinemachoice.com/testbench/Televisions/Panasonic/PanasonicTX-32PL1.php)
I am now thinking that perhaps a 28" TV might be better...
Try checking Comet's auction site (its from the top menu on the main UK site). There's loads of ex-display, customer returns, and items with one or two missing extras or slight damage (all of which they describe on the site).
I've just won a Panasonic 28" Pure Flat Widescreen Nicam TV for £331 when the shop price is over £500. Only missing it's stand (£40 from Argos) and with a slight scratch. Not bad seeing as my budget was a maximum of £400. Whether it actually works when it's delivered is another thing (although all items have a 1 year warranty and can be returned as per normal purchases). It may be an expensive mistake but it was worth taking a chance at these prices.
Make sure you look at the 'Extra Auctions' by entering your postcode, otherwise you won't get much choice!
May not be for everyone, but I wanted a good TV at cheapskate prices!
Thats certainly worth looking at...
But I'm still not sure what TV is good to get though...
At the moment I'm going by price which isnt a good measure of quality...
I just bought this TV, am totally blown away by the picture quality:
JVC-AV28T25S (http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/productdetailsnew.asp?modelcode=JVC-AV28T25S&affiliateid=98)
I'm looking for a new w/s set too.
Managed to narrow it down to:
Toshiba 28ZD26
SONY KV28LS60
(maybe the 32" versions if I can find a better spot for it go)
Both around £590 at unbeatable, and the sony comes with a DVD player (not multi region though)
Will check them out instore before I decide which one, of course.
I've not found much bad stuff written about them (even on the avforums...) apart from some toshs "buzzing" and having a crappy stand.
Buuut, someone has the 32" model and a piccy on the home cinema thread and it looks damn nice.
Also not sure about them being 100Hz as I watch a lot of football.
Are there any others worth checking out?
I think I will go for the Panasonic TX32 PL1 that Ono suggested
It looks like a good TV. I'll price match it at John Lewis with the price from Hi Spek and get 5 years guarantee and free deliverey!!
Does it not matter that HiSpek have none in stock?

Top TV - had mine a couple of weeks and am really happy with it!
The sound's a bit weak but if you've got a seperate sound system then it doesn't matter. If you haven't then you may be better off with the 'R' model, av28r25, as it's the same tele but with superior sound.
:D

Did you get one dysfunction? If so did John Lewis pricematch it?
Any good?
I have ordered one from John Lewis as it is also out of stock at JL but the price is the same in their sale at the moment...
I just have to wait now.
Also the bonus is that Ive got time to find it cheaper elsewhere and do the price match thing! The shop has to have stock when you price match.
The TV looks great at the shop so with a descent aerial etc it should be fantastic!!
House of Frazer are also selling the TV for the same price but they dont have free delivery...
Dys?
So it was £699 all in at john lewis then, including 5 year warranty?

Thats right!!
Right, I'm there.
Was gonna pay £684 with one year warranty delivered off the net.
You have to mention anything about pricematch or is that the price outright?
No price matching required as thats the price they are advertising....
Woohoo
Widescreen here I come...
Now just gotta decide on sky digital (Just gone up again), NTL digital, or a freeview box to get a proper widescreen piccy.
You know when the sale ends?
Have no idea.
But you can order one in the mean time as it will take a while for them to get the TV's. If during that time you dont want it you can always cancel.
They only charge you once they have the TV and are ready to deliver it to you...
Ah, did they give you any idea of timescale m8?
About 4 weeks...
gah, spose it gives me time to sort out widescreen connection.
You could get it at House of Fraser as they have stock right now for the same price...also get 5 yr warranty but have to pay about £25 delivery...
hmm, £725 makes it £40 more than the net then....
Worth it, but I already got a very good Sony 29", problem is it's square...:(
Think I'll stick with John Lewis.
Just got a message from John Lewis saying they have my TV in stock!!!
I think they said they will have it delivered by the 18th!!!
Wooooot!!!
Edit: Being delivered on the 16th!!! I cant wait!!!!!!!!
A Quadruple post!!
:shocker:
How that happen??
:nono:
I'm not padding promise!
Tut tut dys...:)
Good news m8, I'm going down to order one sunday, hopefully offer will still be on.
Also gonna pick up a freeview box from littlewoods, may also go for a wee at some point, ah, this is getting silly....:)
I have just ordered the Toshiba 32Z23 for my parents, price £619.99 inc delivery from RGBdirect.co.uk. It is Nicam, has a flat screen and comes complete with a stand. It also looks drop dead gorgeous as well. It is out of stock at the moment but should be available within the next 2/3 weeks.
Well,
Went deliver on a saturday which was a bonus.....
