Question:
I just wanted to hear some CDs through my pioneer 717 dvd player connected to my sony wega tv but every time I put a CD in, the player tries to play it but then rejects it. Can someone tell me why it's doing this.
I'm 100% sure that I have played some CDs on it before connected to my TV. :(
Is this a retail CD or a CDR?
Does the display say anything when it rejects the disk?
8-, it's aactually a retail disc (kylie), when it rejects it the player just displays open on the display.
What I meant was does the display say anything before it chucks it out.
If it won't recognise any audio CDs then it's possible that the laser has died. Presumably you can still play DVDs on it? There should be two lasers - one for DVD and one for CD, so if the cd one dies you should still be able to play dvds on it.
Pioneer 71 series of players are fussy about some media.Try 10 different cds im sure some will work.
