Question:
Hi guys,
After help from Leigh and Woz, I have narrowed my new and up coming purchase of an AV system with Speaker set to a narrow field.
I need 1 Coax and 1 optic input and I want 5.1, DTS and ProLogic II.
I definately want the Yamaha NSP220 speaker set as it seem to have a good sound and is within my price range.
However should I get it as part of the Yamaha HTIB-45 set or should I get a Denon AVR1602 and buy the NSP220 seperately?
So far I can get the whole Yamaha set for £329.96 from EmpireDirect. Or the Denon for £219.95 from Richer Sounds and the speakers for £144.03 from Empire. Is the Denon AVR1602 worth an extra £35 over the Yamaha Htr5540?
Or should I get something else?
Wow didn't that turn into technogeek ... :dork:
thanks for your advise.
I own the NSP220 speaker system and recommend it - great value for money.
I've only heard it through my Kenwood amp, but it sounds great to me in our rather small front room :)
Go and listen to them somewhere.
Honestly..its the only way to tell.
You cant buy HiFi on peoples recomendations or reviews.
One persons 5* item will be anothers 2*.
Without having listened to any of the kit you name I'd probably go for the denon BUT who knows which I'd prefer(or you).
Recently bought some new speakers myself, was verry interested in some kefs (as they'd match my rears, I liked some of their other speakers etc). They (Q5's) were the worst of the bunch I auditioned ( but will be good for someone else).
Like wise I listened to 2 WHF 4* speakers, B&W CM4's and some linn stuff, hated the linn, loved the B&W's.
