Question:
Got my new xmas present today, and already in having trouble. i plug my AV receiver to my dvd player via an optical cable, the receiver will not play dd5.1 it comes on in pro logic by default and will not go onto dd5.1 but it will play DTS tracks no problem. is there a button i should press on the receiver or dvd player or have i got a faulty unit?
Check your sound options on your dvd player's
set up menu sounds like you are sending out dolby digital as PCM
and not bitstream from the DVD.
If this is the case then dolby digital will only be sent out of the
optical lead as pcm 2.0 stereo which means that you will only
get prologic sound.

I only get the option of PCM, RAW and off? which would it be mate?

RAW.
PCM is re-encoded to 2-chanel and Off is well.... off!
