Question:
(apologies if not posted in the right forum)
I'm looking to get a replacement for my old and knackered cd player. Requirements are: it should be small, have a good sound, single cd, tape, radio and auxiliary inputs. If it looks good it's a bonus. I found this which looks quite good, but could anyone suggest any alternatives that might be suitable. Or is this model a good 'un, given my specifications? One more thing, ideally it should have a motorised lid for the cd player. In my experience, the lids that you push down to open/close (vague description, but can you see what i'm getting at?) tend to warp, and aren't especially durable.
Thanks in advance peeps.
how much do you want to spend?
Crap, I knew there something I forgot! Under £200, preferably less than £150. For £200 it would have to be whizz bang (bear in mind that i'm not too bothered about volume, just has to sound good). The example I tried to post (link has broken for some reason) was a Kenwood cd/radio/tape mini hi-fi at novatech. Here it is : http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/SpecPage/KEN-HM335S (and it's even cheaper than my budget!)
Looks right up my street, but if anyone knows otherwise, please tell me!
If you're not really going to be using the tape deck that much then the Denon DM30's are supposed to be excellent. Not sure whether you'll be able to pick it up for under 200 though! :|
I've heard good things about the DM30, but it's a bit out of my price range - £189 @ empiredirect, without speakers!
There's quite a few good models in your price range but most without a tape deck...
I can live with that, I think. Or rather, without. So they would be ..... :D
Baps will recommend a micro aiwa jobby :D (try a search)
I just bought a Teac MCD78 (CD/Tuner/Speaker), Good quality for the price. But I did talk the Dixons salesperson to cut £30 off (to £140) :D
Thanks for the pointers! That Aiwa Baps was on about looks quite sweet. Might have to look at it in the flesh. But, it is £20 more than the Kenwood and doesn't have a tape player....... This is going to take some thinking.
