Question:
Can anyone tell me what this machine is like, selling for 79 squid in the CO-OP. Region free but can it play VCD/SVCD?. If not anyone got the hack for this machine to play VCD/SVCD

According to owners posts at vcdhelp.com it can play VCD and SVCD.
There seems to be a difference of opinion though. One simply says they play. The other post says you have to repeatedly press "goto" while the disc is loading, followed by "1" to get them to play (you have to use this trick on the Alba 108 too ).

P.S the Naiko 2081 is only £59.99 at Safeway (bought one yesterday).
Its multiregion out of the box and i have played the following formats without problems:
Region 2 DVDs
Region 1 DVDs
Region 1 DVDs with RCE
DVD-R movies (single films and multis)
VCD
SVCD
MP3 on CDR
CDRW
Kodak picture CDs
There is other formats it plays too (according to posts on vcdhelp), but i don't have them to try.
Its a bargain at £59.99 ;)
