Question:
Latest update has now enabled rewind facility for up to 1 hour of any programme you are watching.
When did this happen Gram99? Has anyone tried it out yet? Top news BTW, now what happened to that 'record 2 channels at the same time idea..'
mines updated this morn u need to go into sky+ services and enable it, u can do 5,15,30 or an hour. It's really good cause Tivo has this and I really missed it on Sky+ it's amazing the amount of times you use it.
No sign of dual recording yet though. I noticed an update cause when I got up this morn it wasn't on M+M :norty: but 998 a sure sign of an update. I wonder if Sky could ever enable picture in picture on Sky+ that would be a killer ap.
Ahh... That would explain why Sky wan't on this morning.. I should have remembered this from the last update. It's nice to know that Sky are keeping us informed of these new improvements isn't it?
Picture in picture would be the mutts nuts.
Is Sky+ worth the extra money. I am trying to convince the wife that we need it:norty: but she wont have any of it.:oh-hum: I got the full package on normal digital but see cant see the point of paying another £10 p/m for it.
Can you guys help me convice her.
cheers
I love it, the ability to watch what you want, when you want, Is what does it for me. It's great watching a recording with no degradation in AV whatsoever. It takes a bit of planning to set up all your recordings, I usually do it once a week and it takes me half an hour. There are series links which record every episode of a program. Recording Radio is good too. I had a Tivo and really liked it but the bonus of sky+ is being able to record and watch TV live, better AV quality and better integration.
Thanks for the info gram99 :notworthy

ky+ 'Instant Rewind' software downloaded
16:42 GMT, Monday 9th December 2002 -- by Alan Jay
Sky downloaded the latest update to Sky+ boxes this morning (Monday) at around 6am.
The software has the functionality that was shown back in August and gives an optional buffer for the live video stream, which can be 5mins, 15mins, 30mins or 1 hour. This allows you to have the instant rewind facility on a live programmes you are watching.
The default state for this function is off, so there will be no change to the way your box works unless you switch this function on. To do so you will find this under the "Services" screen under Sky+ Setup - it is now the second item on the menu.
Digital Spy has been told that this version defaults to off and there are more facilities due in the new year which will enhance the functionality further. This is likely to include the ability to save the programmes from the review section and possibly the twin recording functionality.
Speaking to DS this afternoon, a Sky spokesperson suggested that this release has been slightly longer in appearing than they would have liked but there are more goodies coming the way of Sky+ users next year.
