Been reading a few things about the Alba 114 and wondered if it's actualy worth buying, or should I spend a bit more and get a better player?
I was completely unimpressed with the original cheap Alba player (108 I think - the one Toys R Us were doing a year back) and took it back immediately!
Spend a bit more and get a better player.
£99 will get you a multiregion Toshiba SD120E from amazon with 3 free DVDs (if you don't need MP3,VCD playback).
Or stretch to the forum favorites at the moment the Toshiba SD220E or the Pioneer 350 (under £120 multiregion inc delivery).
There is also the £99 Samsung that has a multiregion hack (and plays VCD,CDR,CDRW,MP3 etc).
If you want a cheapy then the Naiko at Safeway is only £59 and is multiregion, plays CDR,CDRW,VCD,SVCD,MP3 and kodak pic CDs etc.
But if you go Pioneer or Tosh you are going to get better picture and build quality ;)
