Anyone know anything about the following DVD players - Toshiba SD-420E and the AIWA XD-AX1 or I
I am looking for multiregion (so via handset hacks), cdr/rw, vcd, mp3.

I think you can get a 420E from Richer Sounds multiregion.
be-direct do it cheap
ask for ian
You won't get any remote hack for any Toshiba player.
Has to either have a chip modification or more commonly these days (not sure whether this applies to the 420) a firmware change.
Best to buy an already modded player.
Don't know of the Aiwa you mention but brand wise the Toshiba should be streets ahead quality wise (if similarly priced). Toshiba are one of those companies which excel at AV products. ;)
Is there a particular reason you want the 420? At Amazon you will find either the 220 for £120 or the 520 for £200 - both multiregion - if that helps. :)
