Can a DVD player damage the disc
Question:

Recently, I've noticed that couple of my discs have marks (not exactly scratches) that go circularly either in the middle or at the outer edge of the disc. They are 1-2 mm wide.
These "marks" did not exist when I purchased the discs but have appeared later on.
Has anyone else experinced something like this?
Could it be that my player is causing such "marks" on the disc. The disc themselves play fine and I have an Onkyo DS525 player.
Thanks,
Danko

A player can damage discs. Grit on the tray is the usual culprit but there other ways as well (these are a lot rarer though).
