Question:
Thinking of buying this, just want to know what people think of it really
Cheers
I am thinking of buying one soon as I am about to chuck out my existing setup in exchange for a projector - which means progressive scan.
Ive heard good things about the tosh players however I had a Tosh 220 for about a week but took it back as the picture quality was a bit of a dog.
Hoping the 520 is better.
captain, if you're seriously going to buy a projector, then personally I would go for the Philips 963a, which has both PAL and NTSC progressive.
The 520 is ONLY NTSC progressive, and toshiba are buggers for not making firmware available to change their kit to PAL prog.
Well i've got a Tosh 510E.. not sure how much of a difference there is between this and the 520E but it's a top quality player.
Has played most everything i've thrown at it except DVD*R as i don't have any at the moment.
Picture and sound is top notch in comparison to others. All extra features work and not much i can fault. The lack of PAL Prog might be an issue and also the layer change is noticeable (isn't it always though)
Layer changes don't come much worse than Sony players though do they?
Ive got time for a nap while mine is changing layers...
Im not (overly) bothered about PAL Prog scan as most of my disks are NTSC, I have about 5 PAL disks compared to about 70 NTSC. I only buy PAL disks like BBC comedy etc.
Cheers
