How to remove the Tesco logo from Dansai 1010?
Question:

I bought one of these, did the region hack, downloaded the vcd and macrovision rom with no problems. I would like to remove the tesco logo and replace with another screen of my choosing (well one of the kids to be honest). I found the instructions to do this
Remove the tesco's background and replace it with something you actually want.
1. Take the image you want as your background and use it as the source file in TMPGEnc-2.57.41.146-Free.zip
2. Adjust the settings so that the output mpg is 720x480 and 22073(or slightly less)bytes.
3. Get hold of the original BANK30.ROM firmware from Tesco.
4. Open EZPatchV12.zip and point it to the firmware, the only patch available will be the background patch. Choose it and select the mpg you made before as the file to patch it with.
5.Save the output as raw.bin, not bank30. Then change the file name to BANK30.ROM.
6. Burn the new rom onto a CD and flash away.
I may be stupid but I can't follow this too well.
Problem one: I open tmpgenc load up my image ok but I can't seem to save the image as an mpeg that EZPatch recognises. I save a .mpg but EZPatch then refuses to recognise this. Can anyone explain how to replace the logo screen in a way I can understand or point me to a site that explains it.
thanks

Try here (http://www.area450.com/create/splash.htm) for a guide used on Sampo players - same rules apply (except the name of the .rom file).
Another method may be via Firmtweak, also mentioned in that article.
