Question:
I no little about camcorders but took a fancy to this model browsing through the shop (major high street electronic chain)
odd thing was that the salesman showed me 3 other camcorders - all Sony retailing at the same price and up to £200 more, but he said that in his view the Canon was the best taking price into consideration
Now did I come accross the one honest guy giving me the things straight or was this guy trying to offload stock that is about to be replaced or what??
This player looked very good to me but I have never owned a canon before and have been a bit of a sony biggot until my hardly used minidisc recorder broke down for no reason
anyone??
I recall looking at that Canon model but finally decided on the Sony PCR 120. I think one of my reasons was that the 120 in addition to being a good camcorder also takes a half decent still (1.5Mpix) which is good enough for me.
I am thinking of the PC120 as well, but it is over a grand.
seen it for 960-990 ish via pricerunner, but not sure whether these internet retailers are any good. Advice on this would be appreciated.
My dilemma at the moment is ? do I get a PC120, or spend £400 or less on the panasonic deal menthioned in the bargain forums (DV in and out). That would leave enough change to add on a DVD burner/ blank media/blank tapes/extra camcorder batteries etc etc. In addition a fancy gettinga Palm Tungsten and MMS mobile phone and possibly the TRU Xbox deal. This is all going to add up to a whole load of cash???
OHHH dilemas, dilemas damn these forums
I got my DCR PC120 from Pixmania (currently showing the basic camera at £958). Excellent service from Pixmania - they have an on-line tracking system where you see your purchase moving - I saw it leave Paris, arrive Heathrow and leave the London despatch point and next thing a guy turned up
at the door.
I bought a package which included the 4 hr battery and case. (don't buy their tapes - you want memory tapes you can get from Jessops or a Sony shop). The 4 hr battery is worth getting - you will need it.
Good Luck.
to be honest I am veering towards the panasonic NVDS30B
its £360 at amazon.com and comes with DV in/out. This will leave enough change for the dvd writer etc etc
I know a few of you have this camcorder and would value your opinions
