Question:
Hi,
I'm after a second machine for the bedroom - it doesn't need be a top make (my other one is a Sony), but it does need certain features:
RCE Playback.
Convert NTSC Discs to Pal-50
Remove Macrovision
TWO Scart Sockets (necessary to plug the video sender in to receive pictures from Downstairs TiVo)
Pal50 and Macro off are necessary as the large, but old, TV in the bedroom won't cope with a NTSC or PAL60 signal and Macrovision causes the top part of the picture to bend slightly.
Anyone got any recommendations? Brand not a concern as long as it is cheap and doesn't look too bad.
Thanks in advance for any info or recommendations.
Phil
I can't think of any that meet all your demands at any price :(
There are very few with macro off. Even fewer that convert NTSC to PAL50 , and even less with 2 scarts (2 scarts are mainly reserved for top end models).
Your best bet may be the £69 Dansai 1010 at Tesco (macro off and if its like the earlier 852 it should convert to pal 50). Then you would need a scart splitter box (these are as cheap as £5 - i paid £5 for a 5 way unswitched box).
RCE Playback.

Remove Macrovision
You dont want much do you??
The only one I know of is the samsung 709.
I have one and it can do all of this:)
Not sure if you can buy them now tho..also they dont play a lot of cdr's:( Blue ones in particular.

The Sammy 909 is the same, plus it has 2 SCARTs and 5.1 decoding built in. Good luck finding one, though.
