DVD player no optical out :(, can I still get DTS ?
Question:

My DVD player doesn't have an optical out (coaxial only) how do I connect it to my DTS amp to get DTS sound ?

Answers:

doesn't your amp have digital coaxial inputs?

Answers:

Many DTS amps have both coaxial and optical inputs so as long as your AMP is one of these you will be fine.

Had a look and no coaxial input (as far as I can tell) its the Yamaha VS10 btw. Looks like I'll need a coaxial to optical cable, I assume they exist.
GTA VC via the PS2 optical is great in DTS (at least I got that going :))

Answers:

I thought the VS10 had 3 x pairs of analogue and 2 x optical inputs

Yep it has 3 analogue pairs (for stereo analogue signals - not DTS or DD which are digital signals carried through a single cable).
The digital inputs on the VS10 are two optical sockets( for 2 separate devices). Its one of the few systems that does not have a coax digital input - probably one of the reasons its discontinued (along with the optical only vcx300 amp). :(
