Help on this setup please Pioneer dv454 and Pioneer VSXC300
Question:

Looks like ill be getting these two for my new system, just wondering whether ill get a scart cable or optical lead to hook them together anywhere in this combination? if not how much will they set me back for a cheap set?
on another note has anyone had any joy getting superfi to match the dv454 for 129 and the c300 for 108 in silver? think i might resort to richer sounds for the c300 and try get them to do the silver. got the impression off the guy at superfi that the 454 will be black if pricematched from ask and i cant get silver? want these in silver tho :(
thanks

the receiver doesn't have a scart socket nor 5.1 inputs so the optical connection is your only choice in this case.

I assume you mean a scart lead to connect the dvd player to the tv, not the receiver as there'd be little point doing this even if you could. Oh, and they don't come with one. BUT, the 454 comes with a composite cable - ie. red/white for audio, yellow for video which you could use to connect to the tv (assuming your tv has the right sockets - if not, you'll need to buy a scart).
As for connecting the dvd player to the receiver, you will need to buy a digital optical connector from somewhere like dixons (about £12.99 for cheap one to £29.99 for an IXOS one) or somewhere like richer sounds who may have a better range.
And for info. I got my 454 from Superfi, they pricebeat at £128 with no hassle and I got a silver one :)
Got my C300 from empire direct for £108.
