Question:
Does anyone here take out extended warranties on their newly purchased kit or just make do with the manufacturers warranty?
Just make do with the manufacturers warranty, unless purchased from JL where they chuck in the 5yrs on TV's anyway.
I don't get E.Ws just as some companies give you 2 to 5 years add on. Most electrical items tend to work for up to 5 year and sometimes more unless it is real faulty. Some lesser known brands with cheap components and builds are the least reliable and will fail after 2 or 3 years and some not and are lucky. So i don't buy them. It is just a gamble of whether it will fail after or before the manufacturer warranty. Retailer and the sellers reap in the money and that seller gets a commission for purchase and added E.W. Thats were they get the money"E.Ws". So i heard. If i am wrong please let me know.
I buy with a Barclaycard which gives me 1 year extra thrown in. Used to be 2 but they reduced it earlier this year :(
Also nationwide credit cards give you 1 years extra guarantee.
