Question:
am after a 32" widescreen but am not looking to spend too much, would rather not spend much over £500, i know this will not get me a very good one but times are hard and i NEED widescreen so any ideas for online or high street retailers who do cheap deals, i was gonna get the samsung deal from bargain crazy as advertised on the bargain forum but was too slow:brickwall
found this one but am confused as it claims it is a "32 screen size but it sounds like a "28 tv, have emailed them but no reply so far

any bright ideas
cheers:thumbs:
www.unbeatable.co.uk usually have good prices.
We got our TV there and I know of a few friends who got their's there as well - good prices.
Another option is to go to John Lewis (the store rather than online) and get them to pricematch with another store. John Lewis throw in a 5 year warranty as standard and also lend you a free TV if your's ever needs repair.
wif100.. I too was going to get the Samsung 32" for £430ish from Bcrazy but I was a tad bit slow in getting my order in aswell
Would have been a great bargain! :(
Ive seen a Phillips 28" widescreen in my local T J Hughes store.. looks good for £299 so might get that for now..
I got a 32" WS Grundig something or other from Currys about 7 months ago for £550.
Not the best of makes I know, but it does me.
BJ,
Is it a GW8260 ??? Does it do NTSC via scart ?
Need to know ASAP.
Cheers,
Mike.

No, it's a W82-2030. I have played region 1 DVDs on it so I guess it can handle NTSC.
Thanks.

Got to be a bargain at that price
thanks for all the replies, went for a phillips 32" from hispek for £530 including stand and delivery, read a review from what video and tv and they said it was superb value and the sound was only average but the picture was 9 out of 10 and was especially good when watching dvds:clap:
on the review it says that although it doesn't have an s-video port but s-video can be connected through the second scart socket:confused:
is there some kind of adaptor or scart to s-video lead that u can get
any ideas?
cheers
You could get a s video to scart lead but I would pipe your dvd through the first (RGB) scart - great pictures on my 6006 Phillips.
If you have a digibox then stick that on scart 1 and daisychain the dvd to the spare scart on the digibox so they'll both pipe through RGB.
but isn't s-video better than rgb scart?

Absolutely NOT. Component is best on high end tv/dvd's, followed by RGB, then S-Video, then Composite.
You will get a stunning picture using a fully wired good brand scart lead via scart 1 of the Phillips.Promise. .
