Question:
I'm thinking of selling my dvd player (nothing wrong with it and it's in excellent condition - Champagne in colour) and buying either the Pioneer DV454 or Toshiba 220E.
There are a lot of posts saying that the Pioneer DV454 is the one to go for but I prefer the look of the Toshiba, but is it as good?
Will these two players be better than the Pioneer 717 I have at the moment? I find the picture is always grainy with the 717.

Are you sure that there is nothing wrong with your 717? I have one and the picture is fab. I have a Sony 32" 100hz Wega.
It will probably be the last bit of my kit that I will upgrade and that will probably to a DVD recorder. IMO the 717 has excellent picture and sound quality and is only surpassed by some of the newer facilities on later machines (such as MP3 better ability to read knackered discs - if you borrow from Blockbusters!!)
