Question:
Hi,
Since I moved house, I had to wire up my Digitheatre 5.1 system again and the sub makes a fairly loud humming noise. Now I know this is well known but after fiddling around I found the hum stopped when I unplugged the coaxial cable from my Tosh 2109 DVD player.
Now seeing as I can't keep it that way !!, has anyone got the DT 5.1 setup using the Optical digital output ? If so, does the DT still hum ?
Thanks.
My Digitheatre DTS sub hummed a lot when I first got it - Videologic said it was a fault and replace it for me free of charge
I'd have contacted them, but seeing as its over 3 years old, I doubt they'd do anything about it.
The Hum is normal as far as I know.
The louder you turn up the sub volume the louder the humming gets.
Best thing to do is set the amp to the highest volume so that the master volume on the amp can be turned down to reduce the humming.
