Has anyone got one of these cables that are meant to knock out macrovision ?
Do they also cancel the CGMS signal as well so that you can record to DVD-R ?
How good do they work and are they any good ?:confused:
Ok just bought one. Nothing beats buying and trying !
Was very sceptical about it, but it works 100%. Very impressed.
R2 no probs and R1 NTSC no problem either straight onto DVD-R.
I think there are a few versions of these cables out there, so anyone thinking of buying it, don't buy the cheap version which is the Sonel Macro Master. That one goes for around £30 but it won't do CGMS.;)
where did you end up buying the cable from?

i just bought one of the expensive powerd scart cables to use with my Pana e30 dvd recorder and it works perfectly with r2 pal discs
but the recorder still gives the "cant record this material" with
R1 ntsc discs!
are you using the Pana or Phillips deck?

Yes works perfectly with R1 NTSC as well.
You cannot mix PAL and a NTSC recording on the same disc for a start. So that's a no, no.
Also you must set the Panny to record an NTSC input signal in it's Set Up menu.
Do all that and you'll be OK.;)

also strange I can record R0 NTSC usa issued without any trouble!

reduced from £39.99 to £24.99 for next two weeks?
