Eltax Atomic A8 (single)
Question:

Has any one got this sub and if so, is it any good and is it good quality. I'am thinking of getting it for my bed room as its only £119.95 from richer sounds (http://www.richersounds.sv01.net/index.php?f=itemdetl.php&p=206310)

Answers:

£75.73 at http://www.qed-uk.com/?i=0ZMYDP1uUF0I&vp=3&bg=216 :)

Answers:

Should be fine for a bedroom, especially at that QED price :)
Beware the 10 minute cut off though...wait for the sub to click before switching it off at the wall otherwise you could damage it :)

Answers:

Marv, I got this sub from QED 8 months ago and have been very pleased with it. I turn the sub off using the switch at the back and not at the plug.

Ive had one for about 2 years now and i cant find any fault with it apart from the afformentioned ten minute switch off, On my system i have to have leave the amp turned on for the ten minutes and then the sub turned off before it can be switched into standby or else you get a very loud pop emitted from the sub......its a bit of a pain but nothing too serious

Thanks guys.:rocker: :notworthy

Clayts, at the back of the sub there is a rocker switch which I use to turn the sub on and off. I only ever use this and leave the sub plugged in. I have never heard the loud pop that people refer to.

You must have a later model than me (mine's nearly 2 and a half years old) and there ain't no rocker switch to be found :(

Going for the A10 now.

I have the A8 as part of the StarGate X1 set (from QED).
I'd have thought for a bedroom, presumably with a suspended wooden floor the A8 would be noisey enough.
I have quite a large room and my A8 quite often clicks off during normal TV viewing because there isn't enough bass signal for it to work with.
With the A10 I think you'll be working on the brink of cut off most of the time, you might get better results from the A6 and driving it a bit harder.
Just my 2p YMMV

IIRC there was a thread on this subject about 12 months ago and it seemed some people got the "pop" and others didn't. I've had the sub for about 14 months and have never had the pop.
