Good tv review site
Question:

Having bought a tivo this morning, i think I'd also quite like a new widescreen tv, just got a 21" normal one at present.
I've spotted a nice one at Dixons online, £350 for a sharp 28" tv, with 3 scart sockets (have got satelitte, video/tivo and playstation)
But where can i find reviews online of various models?
Tried typing the product code into google but no joy!!
thanks

thanks for that, neither of them have the machine I'm looking at but have reviews of the 24" and 32" ones so helps a bit.
Sharp seems to be a middle of the road sort of television, but at a low price!!

my advice is don't ask for peoples opinions:( i am thinking of buying the same tv, but after asking/looking for info i got news that just makes you doubt any purchase you get. buy it and if you like it keep it, if you don't send it back. that's the only way you're going to find the right tv as reveiws don't mention faults and opinions are always bad:( i really wish i didn't need a new tv as buying one is a sodding pain. every tv i've checked out has an abundence of faults apparently. if you really want to feel bad go to the av forums and do a search on any model you choose and then cry.........that's what i did:mad:

I think your right really. I'm getting contrasting opinions all over the place!!!!!!!
Best go for the model i seem to like, which is at quite a cheap price. I'll go and check it out in Dixons after work then!!
Thanks

I am so glad that I am not the only one having this problem! I have spent the last few weeks scouring the internet for info on different TVs. Everytime I looked up a TV that I thought sounded good I got so many bad comments that I gave up on it and looked for another one. It seems to me that any TV has as much chance of being good or bad as the others.
I think I have decided on the LG RI-28CZ10RX. I know it is cheap at £260 but it sounds good for the price and has got to be better than the 14" TV that I currently own.

did you check out the sharp at dixons? what did you think?:)

Answers:

Yes, went along and had a look, and to be honest, it looks like every other 28" in the store. So went for it as I never notice slight quality or sound differences and this one was cheap, had a free stand, and 3 scart connections.
Think your advice was spot on in this respect, you just have to make your own mind up and to me, price and the extra scart connections was the winning thing,
Can't wait until next Saturday when it arrives now!!

picture quality on a TV I find is always subjective, what one person likes may not be the same as the next therefore a reviewers opinion may be wrong for you. For a TV I look for build quality and overall design of the set itself

So was it £350 in the shop or did you order it online?:)

Answers:

It was a bit odd. The dixons catalgue says its £450, and dixons online says its £350, a web exclusive price. Howvere as Dixons was shut, i went along to currys, where they are selling it for £350. So the £100 discount was a bit of a lie!!
Got it online with a 7.5% discount code so saved £26.
Catherine

that is odd, as currys online are now selling it for £379???
is the code in the bargain forum?

Answers:

Well the £379 one is the one i saw in currys last night.
Its £349 on the currys site and the discount code was in the tivo in dixons thread that is in the bargin forum.
You going to get one as well??

no, it says £379. i'm looking at it now. currys site, not dixons.
