Bloody buzzing speakers on my videologic dts......
Question:

.....over the past few weeks I have noticed a buzzing noise coming from my speakers when I first turn the unit on,after about 1 or 2 minutes it does eventually go away. The unit is about 2 years old, question is,does it sound like my speakers are knackered,I have tried hooking it up to my P.C,but I get the same thing,I have had it about 22 months of trouble free 5.1/dts sound, but now it seems to be developing this annoying problem, anyone else have this problem?or any idea how I may fix it?Thanks in advance ...

I've had my system for about the same amount of time, can't say i've noticed any excessive humming. If i turn it on (with nothing playing) i can definately hear the fuzz of the system but it's gone by the time i play anything.
Have you tried emailing customer support?, it may be past warranty but i'm sure they'll offer some advice.

Which speakers are buzzing?
I bought a Videologic Digitheatre DTS (black) on 16-1-2002.

It worked fine in both DD and DTS modes, but I found that when it was powered that there is an audible hum coming from the subwoofer.

This hum was at the same level during all the following tests that I carried out:

1. Whether the setting is on mute or not
2. Regardless of what level the volume is set to
3. Whether the digital coax cable from the DVD player is plugged into the Digitheatre or not
The sub was at one end of the room and I could easily hear it from the other end - approx. 25 feet away. I would be able to hear it from further away but that is the size of the room.

I also tested it:

1. resting on different surfacsest (i.e. it is not a vibration of it being on something hard/soft)
2. close to the wall/ away from the wall
Videologic said that it was a problem with the sub and replaced it for me - they sent a courier to pick it up and sent me a replacement.

All my speakers make a buzz/humm noise if the unit is switched on after being off for a few hours, the noise is there for 2 to 3 minutes sometimes longer, and then it will simply stop, the length of time the buzzing occurs has gradually got longer over the past couple of months,i.e it only lasted a few seconds at the start, now it is several minutes before it stops:( it does not affect the sound while watching a movie, although sitting waiting on the buzzing to stop,is annoying, and I would imagine it will only get worse
TEL.(I may e-mail videologic for advice)

You should email them. Their email Tech Support is pretty good - if you do end up ringing them prepare to be on hold for a while and also for the number to be engaged, but the email response is pretty quick (or was for me).
