Question:
Its seems quite common now to get a video record in the UK that will play US tapes, but in america is it commonplace to get a vcr that plays PAL tapes?? Or will it be hard to find one?
They're not that common in the US. One of the few that is available over there is the Samsung SV-5000 (search on Google for more info). It's probably overkill for your needs though... it'll play just about any format tape (PAL/NTSC/SECAM/etc) in any video format you want. Also has a multivoltage power supply built-in - unusual for a VCR.
Jungle were selling these off a few months ago for £200 - quite a bargain IMHO.
