Question:
...without the remote control.
It is the Sony 14" KV-M141OU.
Thanks.
If it's anything like my 'KV' wstv, then you can't..
You could always buy a one-for-all from Argos, tune your TV and then return it.. :dork:
No it's okay - it is my TV at work - I want to retune it to see if the BBC have added the FreeView channels yet. Not to worry.
Surely there must be other Sony TVs (or even VCRs) kicking around the BBC - use the remote from one of those..?
I have got a Sony remote control (I nicked it from another telly) but it is for newer TVs. The remote is the one I used to have for my 14" TV. The only number I can find on the remote control is in the battery flap: 08067589.
Surprised it doesn't work.. :/
Sony remotes normally have an 'RM' number on the front, god knows what that battery flap number is...
Oh yeah - sorry! It is RM-836.
Craig, is the TV maintained by a department at the BBC? I know at London Broadcasting House if you have an issue with your TV, VCR, Radio etc supplied by the BBC you just ring them up with any problems. Find out who usually maintains AV stuff at your location and give them a ring (even if they didn't supply the TV they should be able to retune the TV to get all the ringmain channels in the name of 'Making It Happen' :D )
Yeah thanks mate. There is no problem with it to be honest but on some people's TV's they get 4 channels on the ringmain (i.e. 4 live feeds and tests) but I only get 2 for some reason. I have swapped someone's aerial for mine and wanted to do a store channels to see if I could get them.
Those channels most probably need tuning in then, if you do get a remote the RF frequencies will most probably be somewhere on gateway.
Who finds this ironic, the BBC who cannot receive their own channels!

We can but the FreeView ones haven't launched yet plus they are not strictly BBC channels.
We get all the test transmissions though and can see TV shows being recorded live! ;)
