Straight off the bat, the only kit I can think of in your price range are the Sony DAV systems..
EDIT - Try www.homecinemaheaven.com/dvdsys.htm and look at their Pioneer & Sony all in ones..

Pardon..?
Yes they do DD5.1 & DTS..
No they're not THX certified (dreaming at this price point), they do not have a tuner and they won't warm your beans either..
ok what about one with a tuner? could buy a seperate tuner though....
theres a silvery panansonic one fairly cheap and i've seen a teac one what about say 4-500 pound mark (well the lower side of 5 ;-) any multi regionn or easily multi regional
cheers
confused
England
Well, if you're gonna wander over the £500 mark then you'd be better off buying seperates..
Marantz 4200 receiver/amp (comes with a tuner) - ~£200
+
A Pioneer or Sony something or other DVD player - ~£140
+
Which leaves ~£200 for a set of speakers..
Or..
A Yammy HTib45 (receiver/amp with tuner + speakers) for ~£320
+
A Pioneer or Sony something or other DVD player - ~£140
hmm k don't really want to wad ein the deep water but...
I will get some model numbers of some kit and run it past you guys
the stuff will be region 2 but hopefully you'll know what can be "altered" and what can't back of a lorry style wasn't me officer my daughter burnt the firmware upgrade honest.
Cheers ears

ROFLAMO @bigjoe you got to be a cockney mate! your best bet is upgradeheaven they have a link at the top of this web page, theyr very good and its there policy not to sell ****. so you cant go wrong with them.
Baps
Where is the best/cheapest place to get the HTIB45. Would like a reputable company to buy from.
Are these available in silver and black. Would prefer to walk into a store to buy rather than internet shop.
Cheers

whitty - I think Unbeatable are the cheapest - they have got shops which will price match if you ask them nicely, but they're way dahn sarf..
somebody had the DAVS400 for £325 multiregion. Its somewhere in the forums, bargain bit, I will try and look
Just had a look and couldn't find it again. Found it for £350 though. Look at the Upgrade Heaven sticky in the Bargain forum
...not cockny but close :brickwall
that sight looks sweet and davs400 does ave an fm tuner so for 350 sovs/baps/bills/mulan/nicker/wedge/readies
the pioneer dcs303
or
the davs400
multi region of course :p
I have the davs 400. Good machine d.d5.1 and dts decoders plays everything apart from svcd i think.
The only downfall is sony have left you with only a composite connection not even s-video.
Apart from that good player.
so just standard scart/phono?
how many in/outputs ???
cheers

All-in-ones don`t have scarts (with the exception of Panas HC75 and some JVC systems - they still don`t offer RGB so its a waste of time).
you`ll only have composite or S-Video at the very best (avoide the sony DAVS400 as it only has composite!).
See if you can pick up a Sony DAVS500 somewhere cheap, if not the Pioneer DCS303 is recomended in most mags as a good system, you`ll get that for £330 if you look in the right places...
if you want RGB out, you`re looking the seperates route - consider the Sony Av1000 pack (includes a DVPNS305 dvd player) for £450ish, or for similar dosh the Pioneer HC51 (Includes Pioneer DV454).
sweet cheers for your help my bro the cheeky git has scored a davs500 from richer sounds for 350
whats the difference and which would you go for the pioneer or the sony? or something else.
(cos you've allgone quiet and were my only friends (j/k)
why would a region 1 dvd play in black and white?
and any opinion on the davs 500?
as I'm going by a place and could get one tomorrow.
