Question:
Okay, okay, it's more home entertainment than home cinema, don't shoot me down in flames - I need a tip, and you are my gurus.
I've just invested in a new all-singing CD walkman and would like to know what are the best (and the best value - I'm not that flush!) headphones available for a standard soundcard/walkman connector?
I presume you mean 3.5mm jack connection?
I have a pair of Beyer Dynamic DT231s (about £35) which are superb and recommended by What Hi-Fi. Worth checking out your local Hi-Fi dealer as I don't think many of the high street shops will stock them.
For closed back headphones I highly reccomend AKG K-44's. Should be able to pick em up at Richer Sounds for £25. Yes, one of the few things you WILL be able to buy in store :oh-hum: .
Don't ask, okay.........
Also, for in ear phones the marvellous Sennheiser Mx-500 are fantastic. Can't remember how much they were, shop around though, you'll find them cheap enough.:)
