Home Cinema Setups Advice
Question:

I'm going mental here... start of the week, I was just after a home theatre
setup (just speakers, amp) now I dunno what to get :/
Basically, my room is about the size of 3 single beds pushed together
(www.dvd-critic.net/files/bedroom/ for an idea of it).
Now, I wanna hook up my XBOX to it and my PC. PC at the moment is being used
to watch DVDs on my TV in my room using svideo to composite cable.
Sound is a Nicole 5.1 speaker system (£85 jobbie).
Here's some choices I have...
Speaker/Amp only (inc vat)
=============
Videologic Digitheatre 5.1 - A Grade stock, £140 (ebay)
Videologic Digitheatre DTS - A Grade stock, £270 (ebay)
Scan AV6 5.1/DTS/ProLogic - £160 (Scan.co.uk)
Creative Inspire 5700 5.1/DTS - £210 (Misco.co.uk - special price cos we get
work stuff from there)
SONY HT-K25 5.1/DTS/ProLogicII - £300 (avland.co.uk)
SONY HT-DDW740 5.1/DTS - £319 (avland.co.uk)
Speaker/Amp/DVD Player (inc vat) MR = MultiRegion
=============
Sony DAV-S400 5.1/DTS/SACD/ProLogic/MR - £350 (From a friend, new)
Sony DAV-S800 5.1/DTS/SACD/ProLogicII - £564 (currys.co.uk)
Pioneer DCS303 5.1/DTS/ProLogicII/MR - £400 (homecinemaheaven.co.uk)
Any comments on these? Any suggestions of something I should go for. I don't
really wanna spend heaps if I don't have to.
Thanks
James

Answers:

I have a scan AV6 system, and am pretty happy with it for the price, althought the cooling fan is noticeable during quiet spells of movies

Yamaha Htib45 (http://www.yamaha-audio.co.uk/archive/homecinema/htib/htib-45/index.php) for around £320.
