Question:
I am holding out on buying a widescreen TV (surviving on watching DVDs on my computer at the moment) until Plasma displays start getting cheap (i.e. £1500 or less, not that cheap  ).
I've not really followed the price of them much, but has the price of them been dropping? When are they expected to drop to this kind of price?
They are dropping all the time, but I think a sub £1500 price bracket is a fair way off yet..
the cheapest ive seen one is £2499 i think!! at richersounds and i think it was even 42".
I had a look at the Richersounds one, no tuner box however, so I would either have to get one or use a PC with a TV tuner card...
A bank loan was looking very tempting at the time...

Eh..?
Sky/cable box or even your VCR would do, shirley..?
:dork:
I don't have either...
You could get a fta digibox, for about £100.

I don't want to turn this into another BBC license thread. But if you bought a Plasma with no TV tuner and had no other TV/ aerieled appliance in the house does that make you exempt from paying the license?

Well yes!!
Yes, as someone who would like a Plasma and has been price watching on and off for the last 18 months I would say a 42" with Tuner for about £2500.00 is going to be the best deal for a good time yet.
Expecting that to peak at £1500 is as, someone has already said, a fair way off yet....
Okay, so who here is going to buy me that plasma from Richersounds then?
Oh go on then, jnms - mail me your details and I'll get one sent over..
