Question:
After having a sammy 709 for a few years and the discs coming out bloody hot i was wondering if new slimline players such as a Pioneer 350 tend to get hot as less airflow ??
My pioneer 454 gets nowhere near as hot as my old and bulky cyberhome did - you could fry and egg on the discs that came out of that...
Yeah, Cyberhome literally cooks the discs!!!
But does it do the discs any harm?
I wouldn't've thought it would damage them, but if you heat a disc up enough it could strip the laquer or surface off... I left some CD's (albeit cheap silvers) in my car over the summer and half of them started to peel
the disc playing in my sammy 709 only come out luke warm ,and also on my pioneer 530
Tafsir
i have a pioneer 444, which i think is a similar size to the 350, and the discs have only ever been slightly warm, never hot.
hope that helps :)
I use oven-gloves to take dvd's out of my dvd-player

talk about hot, try putting CD/DVD's in the microwave for about 12seconds with the lights out. Watch the fireworks !!!
WARNING: Only do this to AOL disks that keep getting put thru your door....

No heated discs problems with my DV-454. Can't comment on the Cyberhome as I never had one.
