Question:
Does anyone else experience this and is there a solution?
R1 discs on the Dansai play fine until the image is particularly bright (explosion/sky scene/white room etc) at which point the image flickers wildly.
I have a Sony tv 10 yrs old.
Dansai set to RGB and NTSC/PAL/Auto.
When set to Video and PAL, no flicker, but the image is stretched vertically.
Any help gratefully received.
You do realise that the 852 does not stay in RGB mode.
You have to cycle it round back to RGB using the V-Mode button on the remote every time you turn the player on (otherwise it will be composite video).
I'm surprised a 10 year old set even accepts a NTSC signal ..
P.S.. My 852 does not have this flicker problem (not read of anyone else having it either). Sounds like your TV is at fault.Though try making sure its RGB (many older TVs don't like NTSC through composite video).
Thanks for the reply Simes.
Yep, I reset to RGB each time. And each time get the correct aspect ratio, but the bright-scene flicker.
Maybe it is the Trinitron set not coping, like you suggest. :(
