Question:
Is it best to wait for a cheap DVD-R/DVD-RW recorder, so the discs can play on most players?
DVDFORUM haven't endorsed the DVD+ format and with my Budget, i can't afford to get the wrong one.
In the US, Sony are releasing the Sony DRU-500A in October. This unit will record in all four popular DVD formats. It should be making it's way to the UK in a similar timeframe.
Regards
the Sony sounds good.
I've also been wondering about this.. the Panasonics record DVD-R which makes them interesting at least..(especially if you have a Tivo or Sky+) but DVD-RAM most likely wont be the eventual format winner I'd guess (with the caddie etc).
having said that, sure someone said recently that the big seller in Japan was the harddrive/ dvd-ram/dvd-r panasonic so you never know.
DVD+R media is coming down in price though due to the number of players sold.. see the bigpockets link on the forums ads regularly.
