My Pionneer VSX-D510 manual says Coaxial and Optical has the same quality, is this true, as i want to connect my ITV Digital box to the Receiver with Coaxial, and use Optical for the DVD.
Does anyone watch movies with the Optical lead and what's it like?
This Receiver was only £110 at Richer Sounds :)



Both are Digital, they ether get the signal or not, there is no 'poor reception' personally I use optical cos its cooler ;)



I've got the same amp and I use optical. Mainly because I already had one handy. ;)



Where's the best place to get Optical leads, Richer sounds has one for £19.99?



you ITV digital box won't output a digital sound signal, just a stereo analogue signal so connecting it up to your co-ax digital socket would be useless
around £6 for an optical lead at Argos

The Nokia Mediamaster 9850T has a digital audio connection at the back, the Receiver states the signal as Digital Pro Logic not Analogue which i get through R/L audio leads.



it's really digital 2.0, a stereo signal.

Yes , that's right, but the receiver converts the signal to Pro Logic, and i get great sound through the rear speakers.
There is a noticeable increase in audio quality with this setup.
