Certainly sounds like a problem in the deflection control - could be a dry joint (which may take time to find, but no time to fix) or a defective component. Your description suggests a temperature related problem (ie it settles down, but wrong after it has been on a while).
Your only choice is to get a repir shop to investigate. Find one that either:
doesn't charge for investigation OR
if they do, will refund the charge if you either go ahead or decide to buy a new TV from them.
I have a guy coming around tommorow to have a look...thanks for the reply LV426...much appreciated
Fella fixed the tv there was some slodering on the power things and it was indeed dry joints...well done for diagnosing that...well its all hunky dory and clearer than ever.
Dry solder joints is quite common. Anyhow, glad you are up & running again.
