DTS tracks out of sync on my setup?
Question:

I've noticed while watching the odd DTS dvd (Saving Private Ryan, Steely Dan: Two against nature), that the voice track is out of sync with the DTS track (I think the audio lags by a few miliseconds).
This doesn't happen with Stereo, Pro-logic or DD5.1, only with DTS tracks (R1 and R2).
So what could the problem be?
My setup is:
Sony S725D DVD Player
Yamaha DSP-A5 (DD/DTS) Amp
Toshiba 32" Flat WS TV

You may need a firmware update according to this (http://www.techtronics.com/uk/shop/trouble-shootings/0013-sony-lipsync-firmware.html), whether it's worth the cost & effort, I dunno..
You may want to try this (http://www.techtronics.com/uk/shop/trouble-shootings/0007-Sony-dvd-player.html) first though..
Do so at you own risk, I ain't taking the blame if it goes pear shaped..

I tried the auto calibration thing, but it made no difference..
I think that if there was a genral Lip-sync problem it would affect all audio tracks, not just DTS.
My Steely Dan disc is an excellent tester, On DD the music is 100% in sync, but as soon as I switch to DTS its all out of sync :(

Ok I don't think the problem is my DVD player, as I tried playing the same DTS discs on my Xbox and the DTS tracks were out of sync as well. DD / Prologic tracks once again fine..
So I'm guessing something is wrong with the DTS decoding in the amp.
Anyone know of any issues with DTS and the Yamaha DSP-A5 amp?

Could you try switching from co-ax to optical connection or vice-versa to see if that makes any difference?
A.

I've just tested all my other DTS discs and the rest are fine, but for some reason the Steely Dan DTS track is definately out of sync. Has anyone else got the Steely Dan DVD to test?

Answers:

similar on my setup (sammy 709 + kenny 7030).
on my part probably due to 'older' technology as DTS on players when the sammy was out was new.
