Question:
I have a sony amp i'm selling,i also have some surplus speakers I was thinking of giving to the buyer, these are small home cinema speakers.
The amp is rated at 8-16 ohms and the speakers say 3ohms, will this be a problem.
I think the answer is probably yes but as the speakers will be free and i'll explain if they go bang it's tough, my concern is the amp will be damaged if he uses them
Thats an unusal load. What are they from ?
They're sony SS-TS300 probably from a Home cinema all in one or something
The danger will be to the amp, if they are used. There are few things you can do to an amp worse than asking them to feed an excessively low impedance load.
Thanks cable monkey, I thought it would be a problem:(
