Question:
I've got a bit of a connectivity problem at the moment and I'm not sure if there's a solution or not...
I have an amp (Marantz SR4200) which is connected to a fairly decent Mission speaker set. While I'm 100% happy with 5.1 soundtracks, I find 2-channel stereo reproduction way too harsh/bright. Thing is, I know that the amp is capable of impressive stereo sound because I used it with my old Hi-Fi speakers before the Missions were delivered.
Basically, I intend to use my Marantz for all audio sources (including CD's etc), but I'm not satisfied with the quality of my current set-up. So, what I want to know is how can I connect my Hi-Fi speakers and the Missions at the same time? (while avoiding simultaneous output of course). Are there switch-boxes available? or is there some other solution that I haven't thought of?.
liek this (http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/details.php?CartID=0209131313041454744&moduleno=21299&modulecode=)?
EDIT: ermmm... think i got it the wrond way roung, check the speaker switches section and there should be what you're looking for.
Cheers kc!, as you said, that link was to a product which allows you to link the same speakers to different units (the opposite of my problem!). BUT, there was also a '2-way' speaker hook-up box at the same site, which will allow me to plug in both sets of speakers at the same time (and obviously offers control over which ones are active).
Big Thanks!...
i was thinking too hard and got confused
glad you found what you looking for.
