Question:
i cannot tape anything of sky.
i have got
dvd player connected to sky digital box, which is connected to the scart 1 on the back of the TV.
scart 2 is empty, but it always has been, we could record before i put in my new home cinema kit.
i have the video going from the video to the TV ariel socket.
my wife keeps taking the scart out of the DVD player and putting it in the back of the video, this is driving me a bit batty, because it's a bit of a pain putting the scarts back and forth.
any ideas?
From what you say it sounds like there is no Sky signal going into the video.
DVD-SKY-TV
VHS-TV
Is that right?
If that is right there is no sky signal going to the video so you can't record sky.Your wife putting the scart in the video would connect the Sky signal back to the VHS so you can record it .
What can you record what signal is going into the Video?
Try adding an arial cable between the Sky box and the video. That'll do the trick.

And you'll end up with crappy picture quality and mono sound.
Try using your second scart on the tv for the DVD and having your Sky loop through the video onto scart 1.
sorted now, i had cables the wrong way round, my cables look like chow mein
DVD has got to go through sky digital, tv is not ntsc compatiable, anyway it's sorted
thanks everyone
