Amp problem!
Question:

Ok, so I've connected my TV's phono outs to my new amp. The thing is that when I have the TV sound going through the amp it only plays out of the FL, RL and centre speakers
I don't know why, but the whole left plays sound and the whole of the right is silent!
I've done the speaker check on the amp and when going through that each speaker plays on it's correct placing. Also looks like everything is connect up right between TV and amp too. The balance is set ok and I'm running out of ideas now!
So why can't I hear anything out of the whole right side when in TV mode? Seems fine when playing back DVD audio

Answers:

Most probably the lead you are using is faulty. Try plugging the left phono into the right socket and vice-versa at both ends.
Actually i've made it sound more complicated than it should be.:(
Just use the left audio cable, but plug into the right output on the telly going into the right input on the amp.
If you now get sound through the right speakers, then the lead is faulty.

other then the cable being at fault, is the TV set for Nicam or Mono? reason i ask is its "normal" for some Nicam Tvs and VCRs to only output mono audio via the left pre-out (white).
It will be fine when playing DVD audio, as your DVD will be connected to the amp via a digital connection (or at least i would assume so if you have a 5.1 setup!).
