I just connected my Digitheatre to my PC this morning.
What you need is a cable with a 3.5 jack connection on one end (like the type for headphones), and a phono connetor on the other end. The jack goes into the S/PDIF socket on your sound card, (usually the socket furthest from the joystick port on the sound card). The phono connector will go into the coaxil socket on your Digitheater.
And that should be all you need to do...

Unlike the Digitheatre, the digitheatre DTS doesn't support 5.1 sound cards. IE, the decoding has to be done in the digitheratre DTS, not on the computer. If your sound card doesn't have an optical out, then hopefully one of the other prots should be (or double as) an s/pdif out. On the sonic fury, it's the versa jack (which needs to be set as digital out in the control panel) and you simply plug the red phone plug into the coax in. On the SBLive! cards, you need a 3.5mm to phono coax lead.

I have an SBLIVE 5.1 Card,so I need a 3.5mm to phono coax lead,I don't think there is an optical out,it has a digital out,but the socket for this is exactly like the other sockets on the card.I checked out the V.control panel, and there is a s/pdif on it,sorry but I am a bit of a newbie at this.......TEL.

If you go to the videologic on line store, they have a picture of the cable you need (page 3 of the accessories part)

Cheers Kiran for the info,my local branch of useless buggers Currys, only had the 3.5mm with double phono connectors on the other end,I take it this is no use,my bro told me he has a little co-axial plug that should fit unto the 2 ends of the twin phono leads I bought to-day,would this work????.......TEL.

Bugger!connected the 3.5mm lead to my digital socket on the sound card, and the 2 phono connections(red/white)hooked up to my little co-axial converter thingy, and this then went into the back of my digitheatre.......and nothin, not a sound.....infact I tried every connection on the back of sound card, the only way I get sound is by simply connecting the red/white phono connectors into the back of my digitheatre's analogue output,I can then watch a dvd in pro-logic:( should I just spend the money and get a single 3.5mm jack to phono audio cable??or is there something needing adjusted in the volume settings,I have overlooked?any help appreciated........TEL.

It's a comman problem..getting S/PDIF to output the stream is tricky and it can depend on your operating system. If you have windows 2000 you will need to install the windows 2000 service pack and make sure the card drivers are updated. Also check whatever playback software you are using is set to Digital output. Oh and you really do need that coaxial cable just get a normal interconnect and buy a little phono-3.5 jack converter. you can get them at most electronic stores. I got mine from a market store some will even make you up a cable with the right connections
