Advice On First Surround System. Pioneer VSXD510??
Question:

Would anyone be willing to voice their opinion on the following set up
Pioneer VSXD510 AV Reciever (£129.99 from Home Cinema Heaven)
either of the following 5.1 speaker packages
Pioneer S-V40S (£149.99)
Yamaha NSP220 (£169.99)
Panasoic SBHEP10 (£169.99)
All the prices are from Home Cinema Heaven. I've got a budget of around £300. I dont want to spend too much now as I'll be moving to my own place next year and finances allowing I'd like to upgrade to a better system then. I'm completely new to this game so any advice would be appreciated. What other Amps or speaker packages should I be looking at in this price range.
Thanks

if you want that amp you`d better be quick, only one left now.

Anyone noticed that the Stargate speaker package looks mighty like the Starlight on the Richer Sounds web site.
I've got the Eltax Starlight Package and am a bit disapointed with it. Tried it through my hifi speakers and the Pioneer sounded awesome - but received the speakers and it didn't sound as good.
IMHO go for the bigger front speakers - and listen to them first if you can. Don't be persuaded by the fact that you are saving £100+ on the RRP.

Yeah I know. Phoned the store earlier and spoke to someone. It was he that suggested the Yamaha speaker package.
Would you be willing to hold the amp for me. Please, please, please. I'll definitely be ordering it tomorrow but I want to have a think about which speakers to go for first. Any advice? Dont want to go over £200

If you don't get it from justin, I think richersounds are selling it for £109.95
Let me know how the Amp sounds CD wise and Movie wise?

For the money its certainly ok - its packaged with just about every system that Yamaha sell:) Really depends on your budget, for £300 you could have a new Tannoy MXAV3-M package with floorstanders, or the other extreme something like some Pioneer SV40s with active sub....
or rather then the VSXD510, you could go for the VSXC100 and SV40 and get a nice slimline receiver with pro-Logic 2 (if you`ve one of the pioneer slimline dvd players which I`m assuming you might have?) for about £70 more then the cheapest option above.

Justin, I ordered the amp & Yamaha speakers from you a couple of hours ago. Hopefully no one had beaten me to the amp.

Why did you assume this?:) I have a Samsung 709.
I saw that Richer Sounds were selling the Pioneer amp for £110 but their site stated that it was out of stock, didnt phone up to see if they had any others though.
