Question:
I've just purchased a new telly with component in, but when you connect up the dvd player - a chipped multiregion sony 735 the TV says that there is no signal coming in. I've always used the svideo ouput on the dvd player before, and indeed when I connect that up to the new telly all is fine, but the component refuses to see a signal. The way I see it this either means:
1) I'm being a chimp and missing something obvious. Can't think what it could be though - the dvd player setup definately says that the component output is on.
2) My brand new TV has a few problems.
3) My quite old dvd player has a few problems.
If it is either 2 or 3 is there an easy way of working out which one is broken (short of getting another TV/DVD player!).
Thanks in advance....
Don't you need to activate 'component in', in one of the TVs setup menus..?
I'm guessing here, btw..
Yeah - you can choose between RGB and component, which I guess is down to whether the TV expects a sync connection or not (I'm guessing too!). Anyway thats set to component too.
