Question:
I have got a JVC AV32WFT1 tele which I bought from unbeatable on the back of excellent user comments, knowing that it was a good set. This set me back £800 about 10 months ago. About 4 months ago, maybe more I noticed a horrible problem that i and others have diagnosed as image persistence. I arranged for unbeatable to send an engineer round to have a look at it. They sent 2 people who were convinced the problem was due to the set being 100Hz, which it isn't. The took it away to be repaired after i had convinced them that the set wasn't 100Hz. It came back a few weeks later and was the same. I arranged for them to take it back again and a few weeks later it came back and once again it had not been fixed. Now, getting quite annoyed I wanted something done about it. The refused to give me a refund, but they sent round a senior technician to have a look. He took a quick look and said that it was image persistence on the tube. A few weeks later after no response from the company I phoned them to find out what was going on. They said that the engineer had been in contact with JVC who said the problem is on all sets, which is odd as i contacted them as well and they said that it doesn't suffer from that problem. Now i have tried to get my money back again which they refuse to do. I have requested that they send it to JVC to have a look at it. This has resulted in me having to find a box big enough for a jumbo jet so i can put the tele in it. On neither of the previous occasions did i need to box the tele. I am very fed up. On top of this the tele now has marks all over the screen and has developed a speaker problem since it has been away. I am not sure if this visit it is going to make to JVC is going to help. I am running out of options. Can anyone suggest what to do or where i stand with regard to a refund?
Thanks
Get in touch with your credit card company and tell them all this. They would probably help to get you a refund.

I bought it on switch not credit card though.
It is not fit for purpose, proven by this many returns to the manufacturer, so you can rightly demand a refund. Contact your local CAB and ask them to advise.
I had a problem with a tube that failed on a JVC TV a couple of years ago. The set was a couple of years old and past its warrantee.
I could never get through on the phone so I wrote to JVC customer services at the address on the back of the manual. I explained clearly what was wrong and how disappointed I was that the product wasn't up to their usual standard.
I got no answer to my first letter so I sent another (enclosing a copy of the first) still remaining polite and disappointed (not waving the angry consumer flag yet).
After the second letter JVC wrote to me and the repair shop and agreed to replace the tube (£300) if I covered the labour (£90).
I was really upset that my expensive TV went futt after so little time but I was very impressed with how JVC eventually resolved my problems - do keep going.
I doubt you'll get a refund on a set that is 10 months old but you should get it repaired or replaced to your satisfaction.
As others have said, if you are still not happy then there are legal routes to pursue later.
Good luck
Thanks
