Question:
Hi there.
I have a problem. Have just returned to NZ from the UK and bought a modded Pioneer DV-535 player & shipped it home.
Bearing in mind my technical knowledge is limited, I'm having trouble getting it to tune in to the TV here - have no ideas where to start. Can't get a test pattern thingy or setup screen tuned in to the tv. Tried playing a dvd but no picture picked up either. The sound runs through the stereo, though.
Don't know if the frequencies for NZ tv's are different or what?
I have a feeling I just turned the tv to channel 0 and the setup menu was there to run through.
Any help/answers appreciated.

You won't be able to tune into the DVD player using the TV's television tuner. You need to connect a cable between the DVD player's video output and one of the TV's video inputs.
You will need to use an S-Video or RCA video cable to do this. Once you have the two connected, select the video input you have plugged the DVD player into and all will work. No need to tune anything in.
The player will work fine in New Zealand (I live there).
