Question:
Im after a cheap WideScreen TV, put it will require:-
-2xScart (1 at least with RGB)
-NTSC Compatable
-AV Out
Cheers
I have had a delivery of a 28 in widescreen tv from Dixons - Matsui 28wn20 on Saturday. Its easy to set up with autotune, 6 picture modes so you can fiddle around to get the best "fit" depending on the source.
Its dark grey much more to my liking than the silver that you might expect. The nicam sound is ok and the picture is very good. The reception is far better than the phillips fullscreen tv I had, even CH5 is acceptable. Good remote with all functions and as you cant adjust anything from the main set, its essential not to lose it. Dixons do a parts supply I noticed though.
Best of all its £249.99 plus delivery £10 including weekends. Its NTSC compatible and has 2 scarts. There are av inputs on the side of the tv for easy access, as well as at the back. Its not flatscreen, but as its 50 MHz perhaps thats just as well. It costs a bit more for a model with a stand.
BTW there is RGB scart (AV1) which can be programmed to apply to both scarts. The menu takes you through that.
IMO It's best to stay with quality brand names when thinking of buying a cheapy widescreen telly. If size isn't a problem then get a 24' widescreen. You can get a Sony Wega 24' widescreen for £300 (Amazing price for this telly) at Hyperfi. You need to go to the store in London or get it via mail order or phone them. The latest Hi-Fi mags usually have 6 page adverts from their store catlogue.
PS. It has all the things you state and more.
Matsui is Dixons own brand, wouldn't touch it with a bargepole myself.

You could modify a SCART lead to achieve this on any TV.
There are 2 sets of the av but I dont know if they are input or output.
Matsui have had good reviews on the reliability and very useful features on ciao.com although this refers to an earlier version of this model.
Good luck
Currys currently have ex demo 28" flatscreen hitachi 28w527 i think for sale @ £197.
3 scarts
virtual dolby etc.
At least a Lancashire branch beginning with W did at the weekend.
Give em a ring, delivery nationwide is £9.99
cheers, Brock.
