I am getting a multi-region player and want to know if that TV will support R1 discs.

Having just downloaded the manual and checked the specs, it appears not to support NTSC (this does not mean 100% it wont though, just besacuse the manual doesn't mention it!). However depending on the DVD player you get this wont be an issue as most can output NTSC DVD as PAL60 and most modern TV's support this (the model you mention is 2 years old so should be ok). If it wont support this then some DVD players can even output PAL 50 as a last resort!
buy a multiregion dvd player from argos, see if it works then take it back.
