Question:
X-BOX
are the x-box's multiregion and are they good quality, just a thought, i could have an x-box for £169.99 from september, or is it best to have a stand alone DVD player.
Any comments would be useful, can they play DTS films????
No.
No multiregion (unless you get it chipped). The fan is too noisy unless you stick it in a cupboard (then you can't use the remote).
Personally I find the picture and sound to be very good but I wouldn't use it as a main player.
Also - don't you have to pay extra to be able to play DVDs on the X-Box? So it will come to more than the £170 price of just teh X-box itself.
The noise would be the main thing that put me off using it as a main player.
oh well, just a thought, perhaps i will pass, i was just thinking of entertaiment for the little one.
I think the price of the xbox is £159.99 and the DVD remote is £19.99. Also you could see one knocking around in the classifieds. I suppose you could also use the John Lewis first order thing to get that reduced?
For £179.99 the xbox makes a great second player. If you want it for the kids to play games AND watch DVD's on the portable in their room you can't go wrong.

Why would you ditch a dedicated DVD player for a X-Box (and one thats as well reviewed as the DV444) :oh-hum:
X-box is designed as a games console first, dvd compatbility second though.... Stick to the Dv444S and still buy an xbox for games:)
